SMART Master's Training
November 12-13, 2009 9am-3pm $300
CESP Central Office, Somerset, NJ register

This two-day course is designed to help educators master the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and use it as effective tool in the classroom. This training includes detailed demonstrations of the SMART Board and SMART Notebook software, tools, and online resources. Participants will learn how to use the Recorder, Video Player, Floating Tools, Control Panel, and “Ink Aware” tools for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Hands-on time will be provided to apply new skills learned. This training is appropriate for those who are beginners through advanced users of the SMART Board. All participants will receive a copy of the SMART Learner Workbook and a SMART Master’s certificate.

Making Math Manageable: NJ ASK Strategies
October 29, 2009 9am-3pm $150 CESP Central Office, Somerset, NJ register
Janurary 20, 2010 9am-3pm $150 Liberty Science Center Jersey City, NJ register

Make teaching math manageable for middle school students by participating in this hands-on, resourceful workshop! Presenter will provide an overview of the updated standards and NJ ASK test with effective strategies to teach students to master ECR, SCR and MC questions. Based upon these updates, numerous interactive games and activities will be explored and provided that can be implemented immediately in the classroom! Participants will gain effective lesson ideas for using manipulatives in teaching any middle school math topic. Learning through problem solving strategies is the foundation for this workshop.
