Leadership Development Program

The challenges for educational leaders in the 21st century demand meaningful, ongoing professional development that directly addresses the knowledge, dispositions, and performances required of leaders today and in the future. CESP sees leadership as an organizational quality through which all parties take responsibility for what transpires in the school. To this end, the Leadership Development Program offers the following services for all those involved in school leadership.

  • CESP operates the Career Academy Principals Group in which principals share successful principles and practices with one another, enabling them to work more effectively and avoid pitfalls experienced by others.

  • CESP provides Book Discussion and Networking Dinners for principals and assistant principals. The dinners are held in two locations in the state for ease of travel; participants pick the date and site that is most convenient for them.

  • Leadership Institute Days that focus on increasing participants’ knowledge of best practices in teaching, learning and assessment are offered four times each year.

  • A Summer Leadership Institute is under development to address identified leadership needs, including building the capacity of school leaders to design and then provide opportunities to enhance the leadership skills of their schools’ many stakeholders in order for these stakeholders to share more effectively the leadership of the school.
