NJDOE Young Readers and Writers Family Guides (K-3)

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION

From the New Jersey Department of Education's Office of Standards Division of Teaching and Learning Services, these guides give families a clear picture of what reading and writing look like in each early elementary grade and how to support literacy at home. Families will find definitions for terms teachers use (phonemes, fluency, prefixes, multisyllabic words) and practical activities for home, from rereading favorite books to keeping a question jar or book journal.
