The K-5 Computer Science Standards Workshop featured hands-on model lessons like graphing with Skittles and cup stacking algorithms to build educators' content knowledge and pedagogical skills. Participants reported increased confidence in teaching CS concepts, and findings were published in Technology & Engineering Education journal.

Rutgers CESP and the Department of Computer Science hosted the 7th Annual Computer Science Summit, gathering educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals to discuss emerging trends, best practices, and the future of computer science education.

Rutgers CESP was selected as a USDOE grant awardee in the 2020 award cycle, the only recipient from New Jersey. Their project builds on existing work to enhance CS instruction at the middle school level, working to engage learners and invite them to continue and succeed in the CS pipeline.
